I am a senior and creative writing major at Purchase College in Purchase, New York. I just returned from spending a semester at the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I took both English and Spanish classes.
Experience
I have tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in a variety of subjects including Spanish, Math, essay writing, and general studying for tests. I also worked as a teacher's assistant for a number of years at my Hebrew school, helping children with learning disabilities to read Hebrew. My interest in tutoring comes from the fact that throughout my secondary school experience, I struggled immensely to not be defeated by both my ADD and a visual impairment that impacted my reading. While I have overcome both of these issues, I still greatly empathize with the fear of being the only one in the group that does not comprehend something, as well as the feeling of wanting to learn, of wanting to understand, but having no idea how to go about it. While my struggles with my academics were burdensome, I am ultimately appreciative of them as they gave me a perspective that is typically only possessed by the tutored, and not the tutor.

Hobbies
I am extremely passionate about, and fascinated by, the rules and puzzle pieces that make up a language, particularly English and Spanish. I made the decision to study in Argentina because I knew I would have infinite opportunities to interact with individuals who speak Spanish. I also love reading and writing, and dedicate as much time as possible to both activities, ideally incorporating them into my future career path.
